Fig. 1: Our Websites

The Information We Collect

Information You Explicitly Provide

Various features on our websites will ask you to provide personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, a billing address, a mailing address or a credit card number. These features include ordering a holiday meal, a Gourmet to Go order, purchasing a gift card, signing up for an email newsletter or entering a contest. In all of these cases, we require only the information necessary to use the feature.

Information Our Websites Collect Automatically

Portions of our website use Google Analytics, Google reCAPTCHA, Facebook Pixel and Pinterest Pixel. These plugins can track your behavior across third-party websites even if you don’t have a Google, Facebook or Pinterest account. We welcome the use of content blockers on our website to help protect your privacy.

We use Google Analytics to collect and analyze information about how our visitors use our websites. This information includes IP addresses, web browsers and operating systems used, what pages are viewed and when they were viewed, and what links were clicked. Google Analytics also reports information about your location, gender, age and interests via its DoubleClick cookie. While we have aggregate access to this information, none of your personally identifiable information is available to us.

We use Google reCAPTCHA on the following pages to prevent bots from submitting forms on our website:

  • Our contact page when you send us a message
  • Our contest entry form when you enter a contest
  • The checkout screen when you place an online order with us
  • The sign-up page for our Weekly Specials and Fresh to Market email lists

We use the Facebook Pixel and Pinterest Pixel on the following two pages to track the effectiveness of ad campaigns we purchase from those social media networks:

  • The order confirmation screen you are directed to when completing an online order
  • The email list sign-up confirmation screen you are directed to when signing up for our email list.

If you are uncomfortable with sharing any of this information with us, Google, Facebook or Pinterest, we welcome the use of content blockers. Our websites are designed to be full-featured with the use of content blockers.

Information from Browser Cookies

Our websites use browser cookies to differentiate you from other guests on our websites. This allows us to keep track of what items are in your shopping cart, that you have dismissed a prompt to sign up for our mailing list, and which location you have selected as your home store. Our websites do not make use of user profiles (there is nothing to log into), and the cookies we store in your web browser are not tied to any of your personally identifiable information. Google Analytics, Facebook and Pinterest also use cookies to collect data about how you are using our websites (see above). These cookies may be tied to personally identifiable information you have stored on those platforms.

Information from Viewing Our Emails

We use a third-party service called Campaign Monitor to manage our email lists, power our contact forms and send order confirmation messages when you place an order with us online. This service helps us ensure that we comply with CANSPAM Act regulations in the US, General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) in the EU, and the upcoming California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). This email service allows us to see when emails are opened, what links are clicked and when they are clicked. It also logs your geographic location at the city level at the time these links are clicked. We DO NOT want this information, and we are working with our provider to disable this feature for us. If you do not want us to have access to this information, select the Privacy option that says, “No, I prefer to keep my email use private.” when signing up for our email newsletters. You can also update this setting by clicking the “update your email preferences” link at the bottom of every email we send.

How We Use Your Information

The information we collect for our email lists is used to send information to you that is relevant for the store location at which you shop most. This information is stored securely on our email provider’s servers at Campaign Monitor. Information about Campaign Monitor’s security practices is available on the Campaign Monitor website.

When you place a Gourmet to Go, Holiday Meal or Picnic order with us online, we use the information you provide to fill the order and process your credit card. All purchases made on our websites are end-to-end encrypted, no credit card information is ever stored on our servers, and all personally identifiable information you provide to us when placing an order is purged from our servers seven days after your order is picked up. Information collected for gift card purchases is securely stored on our ecommerce provider’s servers at Shopify. Information for all other orders is stored securely on our servers.

The information we collect for our Community Scrip Program is used to fund the organizations you support with your purchases, and to provide you access to manage your account on our Community Scrip Program website. This information is stored securely on our servers.

The contest information we collect is used to notify winners and to verify eligibility for specific geographic regions. This information is stored securely on our servers.

We use cookie information collected by Google Analytics to plan the content, layout and features of our websites. This information is stored on Google’s servers, and all personally identifiable information is purged after 26 months.

Information acquired from Google Analytics, Facebook and Pinterest may be shared with select third parties that assist us with marketing research, distribution of marketing materials and hiring Nugget Market, Inc. associates. All third parties used in this capacity are under contract to not share any information we provide to them, and to destroy all sensitive information upon our request or on completion of our contract.

How We Protect Your Information

Our websites use the most current encryption technologies to store and transfer the data you provide to us through them. Access to your personal data is limited to only authorized Nugget Market, Inc. associates that manage the respective service. For redundancy, executives in our IT and Marketing departments share responsibilities for the protection of the personal data we collect on our websites.

Unless otherwise noted above, any personal information we collect from our websites is retained until you request that it be deleted.

How to Review, Correct or Delete Your Personal Information

If you simply wish to unsubscribe from one of our email newsletters or update your subscription information, you may use the links provided at the bottom of the emails we send.

Equal Service and Price

It is our privilege to serve you regardless of whether you choose to share your personal information with us or not. Every one of our guests is entitled to the same prices and extraordinary service at our stores and on our websites.

By using our website, you consent to our collection of personal information outlined in this policy.
